How we handle your information
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you order from us we collect your name, delivery address, email address, phone number and order details. Payment is handled by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card details. If you subscribe to our emails we collect your name and email address. Our website also collects standard analytics data such as pages visited and approximate location, through cookies.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
To take and fulfil your order, to send you tracking and order updates, to handle returns and enquiries, and — if you have opted in — to send you marketing emails.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
Our print and fulfilment partner, so they can make and ship your order. Our payment provider, to process your payment. Our website and email platforms, which hold the data on our behalf. Some of these providers are based overseas, which means your information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We only use providers that are required to protect your information. We never sell your personal information.
MARKETING
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional emails about an order you have already placed.
ACCESS AND CORRECTION
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@thegritngrind.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records for tax purposes even after a deletion request.
SECURITY
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no online system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
COOKIES
Our site uses cookies to keep your cart working and to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working properly if you do.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, email us at info@thegritngrind.com and tell us what went wrong. We will look into it and come back to you.
If we cannot sort it out between us, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
